Structural Load Analysis
A comprehensive structural assessment and engineering solution for removing two load-bearing walls in a 1980s split-level, enabling a complete open-concept renovation.
Project Story
The homeowner's contractor told them they couldn't remove two interior walls in their split-level home. They came to us for a second opinion. Our structural engineer conducted a full load analysis and determined both walls could come down.
We designed a steel beam solution with properly sized LVL headers, specified new footings to handle the concentrated loads, and produced stamped engineering drawings for the permit application.
The permit was approved on first submission. The homeowner's contractor used our drawings to complete the renovation, and we provided on-site inspection at key milestones to ensure our design was executed correctly.
